Stretford teenage raising funds for charity trip to South Africa

Katie, a local Stretford resident has been selected by a national charity Project Trust to spend a year in South Africa teaching and doing social care. She has worked extremely hard and is on track to achieve distinction stars in Health and Social Care at college and has also risen to the rank of Flight Sergeant in the RAF Cadets.

Her Mum Claire is extremely proud of the young lady she has blossomed into and instead of thinking of herself, hairdos, eyebrows and shopping trips, she has chosen to give something back.

However, in order for Katie to fulfill her ambition the family have to raise £6000 in 4 months. Katie has been working hard organising fundraising events such as a bingo night, coffee morning, book sales, doing a 5k run and set up a Virgin Money page.

Can your local business help support Katie further?

We would like to see if any local businesses might like to become a sponsor. In return we can offer some great PR through social media and she will be doing a blog whilst over there which will mention any businesses who have helped her on the way. Upon her return to the UK she has aspirations to either join the RAF or go into teaching.

Here is a link to her Virgin Money page, she also has a page on Facebook, Katie’s year in South Africa…
