SALE FC Rugby club have unveiled the commemorative shirt their first team will be wearing at their remembrance match on November 17th.
While the front of the shirt features the club’s logo alongside the British Legion logo, the rear has the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ written by Canadian Major John McCrae in 1915 during the second battle of Ypres.
All profits made from sales of the shirt, will go to the Royal British Legion.
Club general manager Dave Hulme, said: “We wanted a shirt which would commemorate the centenary in a fitting manner, and the poem in Flanders Fields, seemed to do that perfectly.
“Our first team will be proudly sporting the shirt during their warm-up for the Loughborough Game.”
